Hmm, sounds good. Too bad I can't go to Wacken. Maybe Lowlands, but they arn't playing there

Dynamo 1997, 1998 and 1999 were good years, lots of different bands. Unfortunately, they more or less killed the festival.

I dont really like HIM. I did like Wings Of A Butterfly though, that was a good song.

Ten Years is a pretty good band too. Sevendust is good. Mudvayne (<--hometown rockers!)

I still like Queensryche quite a bit, too. Poison, Ratt, GnR, et al.

If anyone else likes 'hair metal', check out The Pirate 100.3FM KQLZ out of LA (Los Angeles, not Lion's Arch). Their website is a bit much to look at for a long period of time, but the streaming audio rocks. Pretty much all I listen to at work anymore.

Why, yes, I am a child of the 80's. Why do you ask?
You know that you've had too much Guild Wars when you mix up Los Angeles and Lion's Arch

I actually havn't listened to anything from the 80's for quite a while after I developed a love for progressive music and orchestral music. I still adore Alice Cooper and his hits though!

Nothing's wrong with glam rock, it's just that I thought that you meant that Motley Crue were at the top of rock altogether from your original post. Girls, Girls, Girls, anyone?

p.s - Agalloch rules >_>

Well, Limewire itself is not illegal, seeing that it's a p2p program. It's the actual sharing of copyright material that is illegal. Odds of you getting busted? Very low. If you must be cautious, then try not to download anything hot off the press or unreleased. Who knows if the government will plot a plan to raid your house through that file >_>

Can't blame you for loving them though, I know I did at one point.

Are you saying they're not?

Everyone has a different idea of what they consider the top rock band altogether. Speaking for myself alone, it is indeed Mötley Crüe. That's just me, though. I like a heck of a lot of other bands and music, past and present, but MC is still top.

Horns up, dude!

There is no top rock band altogether ^_^

And yes, I am saying that Motley Crue isn't the greatest =P

*starts a stupid arguement with Eugaet*

Roar!

Are you high? Linkin Park owns every other band in this thread, but then again they're the only rock band that I listen to. "Runaway"!

Hahaha

In what way can they 'own' other bands?

Lyrics - Ok, pain, depression, robots? That's some great songwriting there isn't it? Example of someone better? Agalloch.

Vocals - Chester can't sing that great anyways. Example of someone better? Tarja from Nightwish.

Guitar work - Power chords are a sign of talent! Example of someone better? Anyone who knows how to play more than a simple structure of power chords.

Bass work - Not even going to talk about Linkin Park's bass. Example of someone better? John Myung, Dream Theater.

Drumming - Do they even have a drummer? Or is it a machine? Exmaple of someone better? Hell, even Dave Grohl from Nirvana is better.

When a band has no distinct strong point in their music, then how can they even 'own' anyone? Let alone the ones in this thread? I suppose that they can rap better than the other people in this thread, considering that none of the bands that have been mentioned also rap.

Arguements should be backed up, otherwise it would be defined as 'trolling'. Have a nice day.

Slayer have gone terribly as of late... GHUA and their new album, well what I've heard of it, aren't as good as their older stuff. Like with any metal band IMO, although Exodus have maintained quality.

ps. Listen to Sonic Youth.

I just realized, it is almost impossible to have a thread about music here without me and Opeth11 mention Dreamtheater and Opeth.
